Ace’s Allen earns victories elsewhere
ALTAMAHAW — As Friday night’s rain showers swept over Ace Speedway, teams hurriedly packed up their cars, fans hustled out of the gates and track workers began the process of shutting down for the night.
With his red golf shirt soaked, Ace Speedway general manager Brad Allen was calmly orchestrating the exodus. Roughly six months into his tenure as the head of the track, he’s used to this type of thing.
But judging by his performance last week at Orange County Speedway, the former Modifieds points champion proved he’s still equally comfortable behind the wheel.
Allen joined several regulars from Ace’s premier support class in a mini tour of sorts during last weekend’s open date.
On Saturday night the group raced at Orange County Speedway, where Allen finished second but was awarded the victory after Gary Young Jr. was disqualified due to tire issues.
